Reflecting on Term 1 of 2025/26

This term has been massively successful for Warwick Women in Economics society, with 35 events organised for our membership, along with running our Alumni Mentorship and Family Schemes. Now in our fifth year, WWiE remains committed as ever to providing an inclusive, welcoming and diverse community at Warwick. Through academic, careers-focused and social events, we have continued to build our community, which grows stronger every year!

External Speakers

WWiE has hosted many speakers on campus this term, including Natalie Chen, John Springford, Louise Lucas, Professor Jun Du and Duncan Weldon for our Economics Policy Talk event in collaboration with Warwick Economics Society, the Warwick Economics Summit and the Department of Economics. This panel discussed the Global Trade Realignment, and the winners and losers from shifting alliances and new power dynamics.

We also welcomed Nelly Bartakova to campus, who shared valuable insights about her career path. and advice for how our members could succeed when applying to internships.

SPONSORS

We have hosted events with our valued sponsors Frontier Economics, Charles River Associates and Scotiabank. We would like to thank all of our sponsors for making all of our events and activities possible.

CAREERS

To support our members currently applying to internships and graduate jobs, WWiE hosted a Spring and Summer internship panel, CV and Cover Letter clinics, advice on how to improve Linkedin profiles, a Commerical Awareness Workshop and a Mock Interview Clinic.

CHARITY

This term our members collaborated with 'Warwick Volunteers' to help the elderly community in Kennilworth at a Digital Cafe Session, to help people stay independent and connected to their community.

We also collaborated with Warwick Student Action for Refugees Charity on a Christmas Gift drive for children and adults seeking refuge and asylum, and organised a Gift Wrapping event to sort and prepare all the toys, clothes and essential items that were donated.

SOCIALS

We hosted many socials this term, including circles, Family Scheme events, Movie Nights, Meals, and recently a society trip to Birmingham Christmas Markets.

Thank you to all our sponsors, external speakers, and executive team members who have worked to make this term a massive success - we are excited to host more events for our members in the next term!
